I think like many bloggers, I am doing this as an exercise in writing. I have thought of a topic, some sort of self important subject where I will impose upon the time of whomever stumbles on this dribble, and I will share bits of my self as I weave my way around describing the mundane and trivial. Are you sucked in yet? After reading back over this last paragraph I am dread to read what I come up with next, but I'm hoping that I can salvage all of it some how.
I intend to write about the used and, sometimes, discarded items that I come across and find interesting, cool, and potentially useful for my own needs. The idea is part green, part pragmatic, part sanctimony, and part hoarder. With each installment I will be describing a item that has come into my possession. The items will be 2nd hand and will come mostly from my local transfer station. I will also upon occasion feature items that have been purchased on eBay, Craigslist or yard-sales and items that have been given to me through Freecycle. It is my intent to draw attention to the surprising, interesting, and humorous elements of what we devalue and discard.
